About the event

Kali Puja

Kali Puja is a significant Hindu festival dedicated to worshiping Goddess Kali, who symbolizes empowerment, destruction of evil, and liberation. This festival is primarily celebrated among the Bengali diaspora worldwide.

Significance

The festival typically takes place on the new moon night of the month of Kartik (October-November) and coincides with the celebration of Diwali. It is believed that on this night, Goddess Kali descends to Earth to vanquish the forces of darkness and evil.

Rituals and Celebrations

  • Preparation: Homes and temples are cleaned and decorated, and idols of Goddess Kali are created or brought in.
